Q: Are UV water filtration systems worth it?
A: We think so, and here’s why: UV water filtration systems are becoming increasingly popular in homes and businesses around the world. With concerns about water quality and safety rising, many are turning to UV filtration as a reliable and effective solution. The technology behind UV filtration systems is impressive, using powerful ultraviolet light to destroy bacteria, viruses, and other harmful contaminants in water. While the initial cost of a UV filtration system may be higher than other options, the long-term benefits and peace of mind are often considered worth the investment.
Q: Will a tankless hot water heater supply enough hot water for a household of four?
A: It depends on a few factors. The size and capacity of the unit will play a significant role in determining if it can meet the hot water demands of your household. Typically, a medium-sized tankless hot water heater with a capacity of 8-10 gallons per minute should be sufficient for a family of four. However, it is essential to keep in mind that the hot water usage pattern of your household can also affect the unit’s performance. For instance, if two or more people in your household frequently use hot water simultaneously, the unit might struggle to maintain a consistent flow. We recommend consulting with us to help you choose the appropriate tankless hot water heater based on your household’s hot water usage. We’re here to help. Remember, regular flushing of the tankless water heaters is essential for their optimal performance and longevity, and we offer this service.
Q: What is poly-b waterline replacement?
A: Poly-b waterline replacement is a method of updating older water supply lines in homes and buildings. Poly-b, short for polybutylene, is a type of plastic material that was banned in Canada in 2005. It was more durable and flexible and cheaper than traditional copper or galvanized steel pipes, but susceptible to cracking and leaking. We replace Poly-B lines with PEX. This involves removing the old pipes and replacing them with new PEX pipes. Homeowners choose to do this to reduce the risk of leaks and water damage. It may even be required when you are purchasing a home and Poly-B is identified during the building inspection! It is important to hire a professional plumber for this type of work to ensure proper installation and safety measures.
Q: Can you put an outdoor tap on the deck?
A: Yes. We offer plumbing services, including this one. Outdoor taps provide a convenient and practical solution for a variety of uses. Whether you need to water your garden, wash your car, or connect a hose for other outdoor activities, outdoor taps make it easier to access water when you need it. One of the benefits of outdoor taps is that they reduce the need to drag heavy hoses through your house, saving you time and effort. In addition, outdoor taps are often equipped with shut-off valves that allow you to control the flow of water, which can save you money on your water bill by preventing waste. They are an essential addition to any homeowner’s outdoor space, providing a versatile and cost-effective way to access water when you need it most.
